VISIT REPOSED NY AT VINTAGE AND MARKET FINDS
Repurposed and Reposed. New York.
Reposed NY has become a way to combine all of my decorating, collecting, development and selling experiences into a job that I love. I left the garment industry as a Director of Production at DKNY and moved to a major Home Collection company in their product development area. There decorating and development became a passion.
I like to bring past, present and the future together. It is exactly how I like to help people decorate their homes.
My store and my galleries reflect my love of what I do.
I love to acquire old upholstery and give new life to old things. In particular, I am passionate about chairs. There is something very human about a chair. A chair has arms and legs and offers comfort. And the result is a patina that has carried down from the people who sat in these chairs.
It is a history in a form of repose.
On a side note, photography is a family passion that I have adopted. My father, a professional photographer, was the true collector and a fanatic of creating "space" and artistically giving life to it. I learned a lot from him, both artistically and compositionally. My mother is the keeper of generations and layers of family heirlooms. Her decorating style is all her own. She has taught us about history and family.
As a result, the family traditions and hobbies became mine. I am sure they all shrugged when as a child I moved all the furniture around.
Always being careful not to deconstruct the proper proportion of layering, chaos. and mess.
Always redecorating. Always adding and editing.
Creating a perfect vignette which is never perfect really. Thats the fun of it.
I also offer my finds and ideas at Hiden Galleries in Stamford, Connecticut. I curate and collect for private clients in NYC.
